About

Hi, I'm Locke!
Malaysian Chinese | she/her | Aroace | 24 y/o | C-PTSD survivor | LGBTQIA+
Locke (or Ashley, depending on where you met her first) thinks that the third-person writing style is really weird and pretentious but in a bad way because tbh she's actually quite a pretentious person by nature.

But anyways, yes, hi.

I like to make stuff, and I think the proof of my existence is in every little thing I create, so it's hard to acknowledge my life as well-lived unless I'm able to see the fruits of my labour. That's why I made this website -- because stuff like Artstation and Deviantart and Twitter kept going to shit and I didn't have a good way to look at every aspect of myself that I've put out there to the world. Here, at least, I have full control and am able to share all the weird and different practices I've picked up over the course of my life. So many things. All parts of me.

This website is mainly for my hobbies! I have a Bachelors in Computing Systems and really enjoy administrative work, but my professional life is going to be kept somewhere else.

I've spent so much of my life as an immigrant, a foreigner, that I think I've come to dislike trying to describe myself into an efficient and respectable sentence that proves my worth. How would other people describe me...
Creative? Hardworking? Nice?
I am all those things, but I'm more than that. I'm a complex person that's spent much too much of my life trying to put my best foot forwards so I wouldn't get rejected. It was for survivals sake, for the promise of a better life, because getting rejected means getting disowned, deported.

But in December 2022, I received my resident visa and can now stay indefinitely in Aotearoa, New Zealand :)

My goal in life is to be content. I'm not a very ambitious person, and am happy so long as I can work and earn my fill, and do the things I like.

I think I'm headed in the right direction.

The Lockery is my small business that I started in 2021, selling polymer clay crafts I've made by hand. I started off selling earrings, but I'm starting to branch off into less gendered options such as keychains, phone grips, and pins.

I try to focus on local art markets as I much prefer the vibe and presentation, but feel free to check out my products online as well!
